Involve IT was able to significantly reduce the capital costs by $1 million for a customer by leveraging their colocation services instead of proceeding with the construction of an onsite data center at a new office facility.
An Involve IT customer was building a new office facility, which included plans for an onsite data center. The cost to properly build the new data center to include compute, network, storage, racks, fire suppression, dedicated redundant cooling, full room UPSs and generators were approaching $2 million dollars.
Instead of building an onsite data center, Involve IT recommended using their colocation services. The proposed colocation data center met all of the customer’s requirements and Involve IT also built out a new compute, storage, and network infrastructure. With the IT department able to reduce the building cost by a $1 million, the facility build came in below budget and IT was able to reduce its capital budget for the year.
